On July 8th at 6 PM on the steps of the Clinton Town Hall, local historian David Levasseur in period garb, acting as our Town Crier, read our Declaration of Independance from Great Britain as part of our countries "250" year anniversary celebration.  In attendance were about 100 members of the public including veterans and public officials.  This reading was conceived to replicate the original public reading of the Declaration on July 8, 1776 in Philidelphia.  It was also performed simultaneously at thousands of local town halls, state houses and Greens across the country at 6 PM local time.  Upon completion in Clinton a great cheer went up!  Assisting David in second photo is Tess Edge, acting as Assistant Town Crier.  Both are Veterans and members of American Legion Post 66."
